Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions, pls post as comments here.

Q1. How is the seating plan for two prices?
There is no seating plan. The two prices are for two different days. It will be in open field, including the stageshow, and there will be no seats. You can go around and do whatever you want and sit wherever you want. It is like in Myanmar Thingyan, we watch performances and stageshow, splash water, shout and play, eat around, sit around. However, there will be a few chairs at the food straws ( you can see the Stage from there also) and a tent with some chairs will be provided for some older people.

Pls see the post below to see the overall location.

Q2. Why the price is different for two days?
It is based on the performances. Day 1 (28/04/2007) is with Zaw One, Cho Pyone and performances and stageshow from local(Sg) talents. Day 2 (29/04/2007) is with Lazy Club, Big Bag & a lot other singers, and their stageshow will be alomst THE WHOLE DAY (it's worth more than this price).

Furthermore, Day 1 is also for those who want to enjoy real Myanmar Thingyan, may be big family with a few children, but don’t want to pay the premium price to watch the stageshow. For those, current promotion of S$10 is affordable. Even if you go out and watch the movie for 2 hours, it might cost you more.

Q3. What do you mean by “5kg extra from MAI, 10 tickets”? Is it 10 air tickets with 5kg extra?
No, you have to buy the air ticket by yourself from MAI. With this lucky draw prize, you can get extra 5kg (e.g. original 30kg + extra 5kg) as allowable luggage when you buy from MAI, Singapore – Yangon ticket.

However, there are 2 lucky draws for 2 FREE return air tickets (SG – YGN, without extra 5kg) from MAI on 29th (Day 2). You do NOT need to pay and buy any air ticket for these two tickets.

Q4. Are the foods from food stall free? Is it included in the ticket?
No, you need to buy by cash on the day itself. The ticket price is already very cheap considering you can watch stageshow for almost whole day with these famous singers, can eat different Myanmar foods in one place, splash water as much as you want. You need to pay minimum S$30 – S$40 for other stageshows about 3 hours with a few singers.

Q5. Is it organized by Myanmar Club (Singapore)?
No. It is NOT organized by Myanmar Club (Singapore). It is organized by Sherwood Entertainment (organizers from Just Music Show with Sai Sai Group, Ye Lay, No & Bambino in July 2006 and Classical Music and Traditional Dance in Dec 2006).

Myanmar Club supports this event as an event for the whole Myanmar Community in Singapore.

Specially asked Questions. (we will try to answer the questions asked as comments here)

Q1. What will be a control over the crowd? What are the control measures in the event of hostility? Is there any contingency plan in the event of any thread such as bomb thread by terrorist? In summary, how safe is this event? Is the organizer able to control the above mentioned undesired incident?

We hope that nothing will happen. However, everything regarding security has been taken care of. If you are from SG, you sould know that this kind of outdoor event couldn't do without proper licence and that licence cannot get without proper planning. Once the licence is issued, the neighborhood police will be informed and will do the necessary precautionary measures. Furthermore, we outsourced our own security to Cisco and another security firm. So, we can assure you that this event is save.

However, this is the event without any politic or religon and we dont think the terrorist will be interested in this event. :)

As you said, the terrorist will not be interesting without any politic or religion. Can you please enlighten your explanation?

Nevertheless, please allow me to share what others opinion and discovery on the terrorist.

Terrorist is as a coercive tool, has received little attention outside of short bursts of intense media interest following a particularly successful and tragic attack.

The focus of terrorist acts shifted in this period from individuals or specific groups to large indiscriminate masses of people.

The evolution in terrorist tactics has been matched by a shift in their targets of choice. Where government or military targets had predominated in the past, there is now a distinct preference for civilian targets, especially economic ones.

This is related to the growing interdependence of national economies and their reliance on secure electronic transmission and storage of information of all kinds.

As governments increase the effectiveness of their anti and counter terrorist programmes in other areas, economic and financial targets are becoming the "soft underbelly" of the Western world.

As such, what conclusions that can be drawn from this retrospective on terrorism? The overwhelming sense of all of this is that the nature of terrorism is "…becoming more complex, more extreme, more sophisticated, more diffuse, and more transnational."

Pleas don’t get any hard feeling due regard to IMO. I do understand the intention and purpose of this forthcoming event in April. It is merely for commercial purpose. Just a gentle reminder that don’t overlook the security and safe of people and need more efforts to prevent unexpected circumstances.

^ To above person,

can you not see the lines "Once the licence is issued, the neighborhood police will be informed and will do the necessary precautionary measures. Furthermore, we outsourced our own security to Cisco and another security firm. So, we can assure you that this event is save."?

And everyone know what "terrorist" means. Furthermore, we are not in a country in Iraq or something. This is Singapore, one of the safest place in the world.

Never ever underestimate terrorist. If u r a Singaporean then u won’t forget the J.I case occurred in Sg. So, just flip through the past and find out. There is no safest place in this world ….just 2 my cents. Of course, u won’t realize until u was a target of terrorist.

Hey man, they do what they need to do, get police, cisco, ect. that is more than enough, i think. What else do you suggest? search a bomb befor the event..? search everyone with detector..? Come on.. dont spoil the mood. Anyway, we now know that they don't do it anyhow and do the necessary safety measures. If you are so worry, there is no place for you in the whole world. Have you ever go outside..? Have you ever been to shopping center, cinema..? If you are burmese and buddhist you should know what is kama. If you are supposed to die, you will die even when you are at home sleeping.

Of course, I do really agree with what u said. Indeed, it was mentioned in early post. This is just share the view and not criticizing or spoiling you guy’s mood. Despite, myself disseminated this news of event to others as well.

Duke….It is not a worry or over reacting to the unforeseen circumstances. It is a concern and just an opinion. Among the people who intended go to this event, some of them r my friends and colleagues. End of the day, who wishes to go, absolutely will go. Noone can stop he or she. So it is an own accord and concurrence.

But this webpage opens for everyone to share their view and anyone can view their air. So be it. Don’t be so sensitive on other comments.

Anyway, I gonna like this webpage as more and more comments are coming in. So guys,…feel free to drop ur debates. Cheers…
